Hi Nancy, even though I am not a certified health coach, from what I understand the research shows that all oils not just olive oil is mostly made up of calories and have a high caloric density. Even if there is some nutritional value in the oil use it sparingly since there is much more nutritional density in having the oil substituted by nuts seeds or avocados which deliver a very impressive amount of nutrients minerals and other beneficial properties for the amount of calories you are eating.
