My health journey began in 1972 after being given some medical advice for constipation that just didn’t sound right to me.
The doctor told me to eat raw wheat bran flakes (you know, the kind that tastes like straw) and to eat ice cream to lubricate my intestines. I guess he didn’t know how constipating dairy products are. And I used to eat a pound of plain yogurt and cottage cheese every week for breakfast and lunch!
Did I mention I also suffered from bad sinus headaches when I had my tonsils removed in my late 20s?
Coincidence? Absolutely not!
If I had only known then what I know now.
Hence, my search for alternative health began.
I scoured the library for any relevant information and frequented the only health food store in my area. I became a sponge for whatever I could learn, and the journey has been ongoing since then.
Another motivating factor for me to learn and teach people about health was my dad and sister, both of whom suffered poor health. I didn’t want to suffer and be like them, so I vowed to do things differently. And I did.
I have spent many years working in the allergy field and studying the relationship between food, mood, weight, cravings, and general health. I have tailored my diet to incorporate the most nutrient-dense foods possible, and I advise my clients to do the same.
I love creating healthy meals and playing around in the kitchen! I want my clients to enjoy food while still meeting their goals.
I believe that health includes mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects, and they are all required to enjoy a radiant life.
