Achieve Your Perfect Beach Body This Summer

Today is the first day of summer!

This time of year always makes us more conscious of our bodies--how we look, how we want to look, and how we’re going to achieve the perfect beach body. Naturally, many of us get caught up in trying to find a magic fix that will allow us to shed some extra pounds, and we jump on the newest fad diet.

But there’s a better solution that will allow you to lose weight and keep it off.

Not where you want to be? Instead of hopping on the fad diet bandwagon, try eating for better health overall. A nutrient-dense meal plan will help fuel your body with the nutrients it needs, and it will also help you return to your natural weight.

The tricky thing about fad diets is that they’re only effective for the moment--they’re a short-term fix. When people lose weight by simply eating less junk, shrinking portion sizes, counting calories, or cutting carbs, they usually gain the weight back. In fact, you are probably doing more harm than good, because you might be depriving your body of the nutrition it needs. Weight fluctuations are also bad for your health. Your body gets confused by the yo-yoing up and down, and all of the readjustments put stress on your system.

By sticking with a plant-based diet rich in greens, beans, legumes, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains, you don’t have to worry about portion sizes or calorie counting. When your body gets the necessary macronutrients and micronutrients, you will begin to shed the extra weight.

Forget about Hollywood’s idea of the perfect body type. Attain your perfect body by sticking with whole foods that will get you to your optimal, natural weight and leave you feeling happy, healthy, energized, and ready for summer!
