Spinach, kale, collard greens, watercress...whatever your preference, leafy greens are some of the healthiest, most nutritious foods out there. We’d all benefit from adding more to our diet! That being said, we know it can be difficult to fit greens into your daily diet. That’s why every Monday we’ll share one of our favorite green smoothie recipes with you.
Whether you’re a healthy eating pro and leafy greens are your favorite part of your diet, or you’re new to healthy eating and aren’t sure where to start, green smoothies are an easy way to increase your daily fruit and vegetable intake. Start your week off right by trying one of our recipes or creating your own!
This week’s smoothie tastes more like a dessert than a green smoothie. The banana and peanut butter combo may have you questioning if something that tastes this good can be so healthy for you! It’s a great way to sneak some greens into your diet if they’re not on your list of favorite superfoods.
Speaking of superfoods, what’s not to love about bananas? They are chalk full of vitamins and minerals like Vitamins C, A, and B6, potassium, fiber, protein, folate, magnesium, and iron (to name a few). These heart-healthy powerhouses also contain tryptophan, “an amino acid that studies suggest plays a role in preserving memory and boosting your mood.” Need an afternoon mood-boosting pick-me-up? Try this smoothie!
